I need your help! I was asked to come up with a few ideas for invitations for my sister-in-law. She and her sisters are throwing a 40th anniversary party and want me to make the invites. She asked for them to have a picture with something translucent over it and a pocket inside for response cards.
Being the first time I was asked to do something like this, I forgot to ask color, number of invites and theme. She is on vacation so I have to make generic ones and we can nail down details as we go.
I would really appreciate your help as to suggestions of style, construction, vellum restrictions, etc.

Fun!! I love to create things for family and friends! I am partial to the 1st card, but rather than a bow at the top, I think a flower would look great. Also, I love the texture of the pocket in the 2nd card, but I love the side opening like in the 1st. I like the tall card a lot, but only if it was done like the first card.

You can emboss on vellum. It tends to wrinkle a little, but I read just recently that if you heat it from behind more than the top it will evenly heat the vellum and the emb powder.
You can stamp on vellum too. It will need to be heat set though. Craft ink (pigment) will never dry though.
I like the look of textured vellum too. Even if you just textured part of the vellum, maybe the bottom 1/2" and top 1/2" with the dots folder, it would tie in the inside texture too.
Also, you can score vellum and it will look like a beveled glass. It looks so classy that way.
I think the photo corners are nice, but I agree that front needed something. Maybe if the flowers were the other corners. I'm not sure. I am really looking forward to seeing your next ideas and what you will end up with!
I have to work on 2 little girls b'day parties for my cousin and my daughter's 10 y/o stamp camp for her birthday! I'm looking forward to the creating!

I like the one with the bow. it looks classy. yes you can emboss n vellum. you have to keep your heat gun moving. or it will burn and warp your vellum. Staz on ink is the best for vellum others will smudge.
