OK, so I FINALLY did another Wedding Album page. I had to take a break and try some other things because I was losing momentum and interest. For a while all I was doing was wedding, wedding, wedding! That album has so much meaning and is so important to me that I was feeling pressure. I want it to look great and so I'm super picky about what papers I allow myself to use and how I embellish. I was losing the fun! I just wanted to scrap something bright red, orange and silly for a while. I really needed this fun break while making my nephew's gifts. I got to reboot creatively and now I am back to the wedding with new found enthusiasm!
The paper I used for these Dance pages is the Kaiser Craft Spirograph collection in Phase. I love the circles! I matted the photos on Bazzil cardstock. As Finn points out I cut pictures into circles with my circle cutter adn then cut out circles of the Bazzil for mats. The flowers are from decapitated dollar flowers from Walmart. The accordion album was one I had made a long time ago. (If you would like to see me make one of those on the blog just let me know! They are super simple and super cute!) I still have to add journaling and a fancy title.
I need your help! What should I title this page layout? I have such trouble finding titles, especially for the wedding album! All I can think of is Dances, dancing circles or Do you want to dance? Any other suggestions?
What element do you struggle with?

How beautiful! What a great page too! :) Loved the vid. I watched it on youtube. Now I have a face to go with the name!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you liked it! I'm just happy I found spot for the accordion album. I really wanted to incorporate that!
ReplyDeleteHi, Amy! I find that it helps with titles not to try to be either too literal or too clever ~ that's where I end up giving myself problems! :D Quotes and song lyrics can also help push you in the right direction. For example, I love this quote that compares marriage to dancing:
ReplyDelete"Marriage is not a ritual or an end. It is a long, intricate, intimate dance together and nothing matters more than your own sense of balance and your choice of partner."
Amy Bloom
Maybe you could do a title using this or some other quote? You could make some of the words like "dance" and "balance" and "partner" in a larger, scrip font so they pop ~ maybe also in another color if you have a color printer. That could look really pretty & I think they would read as a title.
You can also come up with ideas by breaking the page down into symbolic parts. For example, dancing is about partnering, holding each other close, moving together, leading, trust, etc. So you could play off any of those and relate them to marriage: "always dance with me" or "be my partner" or "dance partners for life" or "forever partnered" or "make me sway" or "hold me close" ... you get the idea.
Anyway, good luck coming up with a title! The page is lovely & the little according mini album in a great way to incorporate plenty of pictures and journaling!

Life's a beach. Scrapbook it.
WOW! That is such great advice because I think I am always too literal probably never too clever! I love your ideas! To be honest I never thought of using a quote as a title! That quote is so beautiful. I will definitely use it somewhere. I also like your idea of making a few of the words bigger or different somehow! You are so talented and so kind to lend some of your talents to me.
